Curriculum Vitae

About Me:
I am a fourth year Ph.D. candidate in the Statistics Department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and resident data scientist for the Wharton Customer Analytics Initiative. I am a marketing scientist and a methodologist. My research specialty is the application of leading-edge statistical methodology to contemporary empirical marketing problems.

One of my research streams involves the study of different aspects of customer lifetime value (CLV), including the creation and implementation of new models as well as developing "best practice" usage of CLV models at the interface of marketing and finance. My dissertation topic is customer-based corporate valuation, valuing contractual and non-contractual companies from the "bottoms up" by valuing their customers. This research area is very cross-disciplinary, touching upon marketing metrics, econometrics, variable/feature selection, missing/aggregate data, survival analysis, securities analysis, financial markets, and selective disclosure. I am grateful to Adobe Corporation for $50,000 in research support for this work. Some of the insights created through this research are being commercialized through a company I co-founded, Zodiac.

I have also published papers and am actively pusuing research in other applied statistics topics related to inference and prediction. Please see below for my publications, papers under review, papers submitted, and working papers. I would like my research to have real-world impact, so I have created R packages to complement 2 of my papers. These packages are optimized for speed with C++ code and are downloadable on CRAN so that others can more easily interact with my work.
