One could never call that analogy bad. It is about as brilliant as they come.
It is easier to find bad analogies than good ones. It is easier yet to make them up.
Here are four delightfully bad analogies made up by humorist Mark D. Raymond. In the profoundly unlikely event that you want to make any commercial use of these, he asks that you contact him.
"His face lit up like a neon marquee with half the letters missing."
"She loaded up on breath mints like a squirrel loads up on acorns so her cheeks puffed out like a bag of popcorn and her mouth was the microwave."
She batted an eye at him, but he called it a swing and a miss.
In the big CD of life, he was a hidden novelty track that never appeared on the label.
When summer is here (or at least spring) I may look a bit into the literature on analogies. I am sure that there is a huge professional literature that will bore me to death, but there may also be some things written for the literate armature that would be amusing and instructive.
