Welcome to my webpage! I am Varun Jog, currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Warren Center for Network and Data Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. I am hosted jointly by the Statistics and the CIS departments. Before coming to UPenn, I completed my PhD in the Electrical Engineering Department at UC Berkeley. I was advised by Professor Venkat Anantharam. I worked on problems in information theory with a focus on the connections between convex geometry and information theory. My dissertation may be found here: Thesis. Prior to Berkeley, I graduated with a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2010. I was advised by Professor Abhay Karandikar and Professor Sibi Raj B Pillai. I also spent three exciting months (MayJuly 2009) at the Department of Information Engineering, Chinese University of Hongkong working with Professor Chandra Nair.
