Perl resources.
Here are my recommendations for getting started with Perl. There is more
material available on the WEB about Perl than you can imagine!
Book
Programming Perl.
This was the first book on Perl that I purchased.
After reading it
for half an hour I was able to program a task in Perl in 5 minutes that I
had spent an entire day failing to do with sed. That's my definition of a
"productivity tool".
Here's a link to the new edition
Programming Perl, 2nd Edition.
Magazines
The Perl Journal.
You should subscribe to this magazine. It's full of really useful code
examples to get you moving on a project.
On line resources
Perl Language Page.
There are so many links to Perl resources, but the Perl Language Page
is where I usually start.
Perl for WIN32
Win32
Get this and you can play at home too! But you have to be a bit careful
because not all of the Perl functionality is available with the WIN32 port.
